This week I learned the depths of how much thought and problem-solving one has to do in order to run a good website. It was also very informative on the different methods they use in order to test and troubleshoot websites before even starting the actual final web page. The UX process is beneficial in order to enhance the experience of the user without the cost exceeding a lot.
There are five key components of UX Design. (1) Information Architecture is the organization and structure of the content in order for it to be understandable. (2) Visual Design refers to the visual aspect of the user experience and putting semiotics, Gestalt principles, and graphic design in order to effectively communicate to the users what the client wants to communicate. (3) Interaction Design is how the user interacts with the product and if they are able to achieve their goal in a useful and easy way. (4) Visibility makes us take into account that a pretty web doesn’t mean it’s useful to the user. It’s okay to try and be unique but you have to keep in mind that the design might be confusing to the user. (5) Prototyping is a must in order to be able to test the website without building an expensive or full version of the product. It also helps to identify problems or find better ideas to present our design.
